Parts Destruction - Avon Lake, OH
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Manage the day-to-day scrap production parts activities involved in the destruction of Ford truck parts to be rendered useless within 48 hours upon receipt.
  • Identify any new parts for destruction and develop a method for destruction including task instruction sheets.
  • Segregate parts for recycling based on material such as ferrous metals, steel, plastic, glass, tires and aluminum.
  • Manage documentation including timely reporting and completion of destroyed parts, parts disposition and escalation of issues as appropriate.
  • Perform other projects or special assignments as required.
  • Organize paperwork and turn in completed parts lists for the week to supervisor no later than the following Monday.
  • Daily use of heavy equipment and power tools including jaws, grinders, drills etc.
  • Inspect all equipment daily and record any issues to supervisor immediately for repair
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment including sweeping around trailer, keeping the outside area free of trash and debris and all drums must be closed when not in use.
  • Occasionally operate a fork lift and baler.
  • Working outside in all types of weather is required.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma AND one-year experience in waste management/handling; OR,
  • Any equivalent combination of manufacturing experience, training and/or education.
  • Honest, reliable with good integrity.

 

Training:

  • Current 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) with Annual Refresher (desired); will be provided upon hire.
  • Current Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA, desired); will be provided upon hire.
  • Current 40-hour Department of Transportation (DOT, desired); will be provided upon hire.
  • Current Fork Truck Operator Training (desired); will be provided upon hire.
